BIGtec

BIGtec names the part rather than the badge

The BIGtec pieces here

A shielded Cat 6a keystone jack, a ten-metre screened cord, a small four-port panel and a hundred-piece box of plugs.

Two windows where the shelf gives one

The keystone jack publishes a solid range and a separate stranded range — AWG26/1 to 22/1, and AWG26/7 to 24/7 — so an installation drum and a made-up lead can both be checked against the same module. The plugs are listed under the connector manufacturer’s own part reference rather than a house name, published at a single sheath diameter of 6.6 mm, and stated outright as unsuitable for flat cable.

The panel for a cupboard with no rack

The four-port panel is not a rack part at all: a small screened metal box that fixes to a wall, a desk edge, a length of trunking or a DIN rail, for a house where the cable comes home to a meter cupboard. The cord prints its length on the boot, which is what lets a bundle be read a year later. Module depth on the jack and conductor construction on the cord are the two lines these pages leave blank.

  • BIGtec white 10 m Cat 7 patch cable with blue shielded RJ45 plugs and moulded boots

BIGtec 10 m Cat 7 cord, S/FTP PIMF, copper named, length printed on the boot

The cord on this shelf whose screening is written as a code rather than as a letter or two, with copper named for the conductor and the length printed on the boot so a bundle can be read a year later.

    Category
Cat 7 — stated in the title and in three bullets, with claimed compatibility downward and upward to Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A. No operating frequency is printed anywhere on the page
    Conductor material
Copper — stated in the first bullet, which calls the cord a copper cable, and again in the third, which names a high-grade inner conductor. No purity figure and no strand count are given
    Conductor construction
Not published on the listing — the maker names the pairs as twisted and screened individually, and never says whether each conductor is a single core or a bundle of strands
    Shielding code
S/FTP with PIMF — stated in the title, and explained in the first bullet as one screen per pair inside one overall screen. It is the only shielding statement on this shelf written as a code with its arrangement spelled out beside it
    Length
10 m — stated in the title, and printed on the cord itself: the third bullet says the length is marked at the plug, and the fourth says it appears on the boot
    Sheath material
Not published on the listing — the outer jacket is given a colour, white, and never a material
    Boot type
A moulded strain-relief boot with a latch guard — stated in the third and fourth bullets, which name both the kink protection and a guard over the retaining tab
    Connector plating
Gold-plated contact surfaces — stated in the third and fourth bullets, on shielded RJ45 plugs the fourth bullet describes as blue. No plating thickness appears

    • The shielding is written as a code and then explained, rather than left as three capital letters
    • Copper is named for the conductor, which two cords on this shelf never do
    • No operating frequency, so the category stands on its own with no number behind it

Best for: A cabinet or a run behind a desk where cords get traced by hand later, and where a screened cable is meeting screened hardware at both ends.

  • BIGtec Hirose TM31 shielded RJ45 plug in grey with insertion guide and boot

BIGtec Hirose TM31 plug, Cat 6a to 500 MHz, AWG 24-27, cable 6.6 mm, pack of 100

The only plug on this shelf identified by its own manufacturer and part reference rather than by a house name, published at a single sheath diameter of 6.6 mm and stated outright as not for flat ribbon cable.

    Category rating
Cat 6a to 500 MHz — stated in the second bullet, with Cat 6, 6a and 7 cable named in the title. ISO/IEC 11801 is named in the third bullet, together with PoE conformity to 802.3af and use in 10 Gigabit networks
    Solid or stranded compatibility
Not published on the listing — the gauge window is written as AWG 24-27 without the conductor-count suffix that would carry the answer, and neither construction is named in the five bullets
    Shielded or unshielded
Shielded — stated in the third bullet, with gold-plated contacts named alongside
    Accepted conductor diameter
AWG 24-27 — stated in the title and again in the second bullet. No millimetre figure is given for the conductor
    Accepted cable diameter
6.6 mm — stated in the second bullet as a single figure rather than a range. It is the only outside diameter on this shelf quoted without a tolerance either side of it
    Load bar presence
Supplied — the first bullet lists an insertion guide with the plug and the boot, as the three things in the packet
    Pass-through or standard body
Standard — the plug is identified as a Hirose TM31 and nothing on the page describes conductors emerging at the front or being trimmed flush
    Pack quantity
One hundred — stated in the title
    Amazon reference
B01LYUHUOK (same reference on 2 Amazon marketplaces)
    EAN
    4051687021129
    • The plug is identified by its own maker and part reference, which nothing else here does
    • States what it will not take — flat ribbon cable — rather than leaving the shape unmentioned
    • Solid or stranded is not stated, and the gauge notation carries no suffix to imply it

Best for: Round screened cable of a known diameter, where the plug reference itself is what has to be matched to an existing installation.

  • BIGtec Cat 6a shielded keystone module in zinc die-cast with a snap-in cover

BIGtec Cat 6a shielded keystone jack, solid AWG26/1-22/1 and stranded AWG26/7-24/7, pack of 4

The only listing in this hub that gives two conductor windows instead of one, naming a solid range for installation cable and a separate stranded range for patch cable — which is the distinction this whole shelf turns on.

    Category rating
Cat 6a, Class EA — stated in the title and in the third bullet, with 500 MHz and 10 Gbit Ethernet quoted. The title adds that it suits Cat 7 cable
    Termination method
Toolless snap-in onto an insulation-displacement strip — stated in the first and second bullets, where the cable is clamped into the module and the cover snapped shut with no tool. The fourth bullet publishes two conductor windows for it, one per construction: solid installation cable from AWG26/1 to AWG22/1, and stranded patch conductors from AWG26/7 to AWG24/7. The third bullet adds colour coding to EIA/TIA 568 A and B
    Shielded or unshielded
Shielded — stated in the title and the third bullet, in a zinc die-cast body with a 360-degree screen contact
    Module depth
Not published on the listing — no dimension of any kind appears. The fifth bullet names the destinations instead: keystone panels, keystone outlets, distribution panels, housings and mounting frames with a keystone aperture
    Angled or straight body
Not published on the listing — nothing describes the direction the cable leaves the module, and no exit angle is given
    Colour options
Not published on the listing — the only colour coding named is the EIA/TIA 568 A and B wiring order on the termination strip
    Pack quantity
Four — stated in the title
    Accessories included
Not published on the listing — the fifth bullet lists what the modules go into, all of it sold separately, and names nothing supplied in the packet
    Amazon reference
B09NJQFNZM (same reference on 5 Amazon marketplaces)
    EAN
    4051687052932
    • Publishes two conductor windows, one per construction, which nothing else on this shelf does
    • Names three PoE tiers by name rather than claiming PoE support in general
    • No depth, on a module going into a back box whose depth is fixed

Best for: An installation that terminates fixed runs and made-up leads into the same kind of module, and needs both windows checked against the drum.

  • BIGtec small metal four-port Cat 6a patch panel with shielded RJ45 sockets

BIGtec four-port Cat 6a mini panel, IDC strips for 22–26 AWG, wall, desk or DIN rail

The panel for a cupboard that has no rack in it: four shielded Cat 6a ports in a small metal box that screws to a wall, a desk edge or a length of trunking, with a DIN rail adapter as a fourth option.

    Port count
Four — stated in the title and in the second bullet, which describes four shielded RJ45 sockets. It is the smallest panel on this shelf by a factor of three
    Rack units
Not published on the listing, and there is nothing to publish: this is not a rack panel. The fourth bullet names wall, desk, cable trunking and DIN rail mounting instead, the last of them needing an adapter, and says screw holes are provided
    Termination method
Insulation-displacement strips — the third bullet names four IDC strips for round installation cable of 22 to 26 AWG. The panel is terminated from the back with a punch-down tool, not populated with modules
    Category rating
Cat 6a — stated in the title and in the first bullet, with the second citing ISO/IEC 11801 for the sockets and listing compatibility with Cat 5, Cat 6, Cat 6a, Cat 7 and Cat 8 cable. No frequency figure appears anywhere
    Shielded or unshielded
Shielded — stated in the second bullet, which describes the four sockets as screened, with the first naming a metal housing. No earthing point is named
    Rear management bar
Not published on the listing — no cable management bar is named. On a box this size the cable arrives directly at the IDC strips, and the fourth bullet describes screw holes rather than any strain relief arrangement
    Labelling provision
Not published on the listing — no labelling strip, no window and no marker field is named. Four ports is few enough to remember and there is nothing on the page to write on
    Fixings supplied
Supplied — the fifth bullet lists the delivery as the four-port mini panel, an instruction sheet and fixing material. The DIN rail adapter named in the fourth bullet is not in that list
    Amazon reference
B0G5GXGTSC (same reference on 6 Amazon marketplaces)
    EAN
    4051687063358
    • Four mounting options, of which three need no rack at all
    • Fixing material and an instruction sheet are both listed in the delivery
    • The DIN rail option needs an adapter that is not in the delivery list

Best for: A four-room house where the cable arrives in a meter cupboard and there is no rack to put anything in.
