Names the plug maker and part, and rules out flat cable

The only plug on this shelf identified by its own manufacturer and part reference rather than by a house name, published at a single sheath diameter of 6.6 mm and stated outright as not for flat ribbon cable.
On the listing
A shielded eight-pole RJ45 plug identified as a Hirose TM31 in grey, sold a hundred to a packet, each supplied with an insertion guide and a kink-protection boot. The second bullet gives the specification: Cat 6a cable to 500 MHz, a cable diameter of 6.6 mm, AWG 24-27. The third names PoE conformity to 802.3af, ISO/IEC 11801, a screened body, gold-plated contacts and 10 Gigabit networks. The fourth states that the plug is for round LAN cable and not for flat ribbon cable. The fifth lists what the maker sees it feeding, from telephone hubs, switches and routers to medical diagnostic equipment, test and measuring instruments and network hardware supporting 10 Gbit/s Ethernet.
A part number instead of a house name
Every other packet on this shelf is described by a brand and a category. This one names the component and its reference. Hirose TM31 is a thing that can be looked up, matched and reordered independently of whoever is selling it this year, which is the difference between a consumable and a specified part.
That matters on an installation somebody else will extend. A cabinet terminated with a named part can be added to in five years with the same part; a cabinet terminated with a hundred anonymous plugs can only be added to with something that looks like them.
6.6 millimetres, exactly
The sheath figure here is unusual in its form as much as its value. Two other plugs on this shelf publish a window — up to 5.8 mm on one, 5.0 to 9.0 mm on another. This one publishes a single number with nothing either side of it.
A single figure is a target rather than a range, and cable jackets are not manufactured to a hair. Whether it should be read as a nominal figure with the usual tolerance around it, or as a ceiling, the listing does not say. What is beyond doubt is that a cable measuring 8 mm across is not what this plug was drawn for, and one measuring 5 mm is not either.
The exclusion that is printed
The fourth bullet says the plug is for round cable and not for flat ribbon cable, and that is a genuinely useful sentence. Flat cords are sold in volume — two of the seven in the patch cable hub on this site are flat — and their internal geometry is a ribbon, not a bundle. A body built around 6.6 mm of round jacket has neither the aperture nor the grip for one.
Being told is better than finding out at the crimp. One other listing on this shelf prints a refusal of its own, and it refuses a gauge rather than a shape; between them they cover the two ways a plug and a cable fail to meet.
The construction that is still missing
For all the numbers here, the word solid does not appear and neither does stranded. The gauge is written AWG 24-27, without the suffix that would carry the answer — the notation one other plug on this shelf uses to say both constructions at once.
So the geometry is settled and the contact shape is not. On round screened cable of the right diameter that is a smaller gap than it would be elsewhere, but it is still the line this shelf gets wrong most often.
Before ordering
Measure the jacket and compare it against 6.6 mm before anything else, since that is a point rather than a window. Then ask the seller which conductor construction the contacts are cut for, because the page does not say. And if the cable in your hand is flat, this packet is explicitly not for it — the maker says so in its own fourth bullet.
