Four hundred and eighty by two hundred and sixty-five

The fourth bullet gives a usable width and a usable depth, and calls them that.

Two of the seven shelves in this hub distinguish the flat part from the outer dimension. This is one, and its numbers are the more generous of the two: 480 mm across against the 441 mm of the shelf at the start of this shelf, and 265 mm deep.

Four hundred and eighty millimetres is nearly the full 19-inch width, which suggests the mounting flanges are arranged so that very little surface is lost to them. That is the difference between a device sitting square and a device with one foot in the air.

The depth, 265 mm, is stated against a shelf described in the title as 270 mm — so 5 mm goes to the construction and the rest is usable.

Heavy-duty, with no kilogram anywhere

And then the page does something odd.

The title says heavy-duty steel sheet. The first bullet says robust construction, stable and secure platform. The fifth says solid steel construction, long-term reliability.

Nowhere is there a number.

Six of the seven shelves in this hub publish a load rating. They run from 5 kg to 110 kg, which is a factor of twenty-two, and every one of those shelves could reasonably be called robust. The word does not narrow anything. On a part whose only real function is to hold a weight up, the weight is the specification, and this listing has spent five bullets not printing it.

Air circulation, and no perforation named

The third bullet credits the shelf with improving air circulation in the cabinet.

That is what a perforated tray does. It is not what a solid tray does, and no bullet anywhere on this page says the tray is perforated.

Four of the seven listings on this shelf say the word. This one describes the effect and skips the cause, which leaves a buyer choosing between two different objects on the strength of a marketing sentence.

What is described instead

Edges, in the title. A black coating. Universal compatibility with 19-inch frames. Installation without a special tool.

The edges are worth something — a lipped tray is a tray a device cannot walk off — and they are named nowhere else on this shelf. The rest is the ordinary language of a listing that has told you what it looks like rather than what it does.

Ask for the load rating and the surface type in the same message, because those are the two things that decide whether this shelf suits the job. Measure the cabinet against 270 mm. And add cage nuts and screws, since the page names no hardware at all.
