One M.2 and one SATA, together

Six docks on this shelf take SATA drives. One takes M.2 modules. This one takes one of each at the same time.

That is not a specification detail, it is a description of a job. A computer of the last several years holds an M.2 module with the system on it and a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive with everything else. Retiring that machine means reading both.

Everywhere else on this shelf that is two devices, or one device used twice. Here it is one operation, and the first bullet says the two positions work simultaneously.

The third bullet adds that the dock runs in single-drive or dual-drive mode, so a single M.2 module read on its own is an ordinary use rather than a compromise.

The clause in the second bullet

Six words that most of this lot leaves out. A USB-C socket is a shape; behind it a computer presents a 3.2 Gen 2 port, something slower, or Thunderbolt, and only some of those carry ten gigabits.

Sixteen of the nineteen listings in this lot print a rate and stop. Three qualify it: one names the cable class required, one says with a compatible computer, and this one names the host port. On a shelf where the whole argument is that the slowest link decides, a seller writing the condition into its own headline number is doing the reader’s work for them.

A heatsink and a pad, both named

The fourth bullet describes an M.2 heatsink with an integrated thermal pad.

Both halves are stated, which is rarer than it sounds. On the M.2 shelf of this site several enclosures name a metal case and never name the layer that connects the drive to it, and without that layer the metal is separated from the heat by an air gap.

Here the pad is named alongside the sink, on a device fast enough for a long copy to be a realistic thing to attempt. It is the complete answer rather than half of one.

Two things this page does not say

No power supply.

A dock that accepts a 3.5-inch mechanism cannot run from a USB port — the drive draws too much, particularly at spin-up — so an adapter must exist. No voltage, no current, no mention. Two docks in this hub publish theirs, and this is the dearest listing in the whole lot.

And no M.2 lengths. The slot is defined by which modules it accepts — 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, sometimes 22110 — and none of them appears. One dock on this shelf names all five.

Before ordering

Find out what the USB socket on the computer is, because the ten gigabits depends on it and the page says so. Ask what adapter is in the box, and ask which M.2 lengths the slot takes. Then decide whether reading both kinds of drive at once is worth the premium — for the specific job of emptying an old computer, it is the only listing here that does it.
