Ten gigabits at the cheap end
Three enclosures on this shelf state a ten-gigabit link, and this is one of the three.
That is the proposition, and it is a real one. For a 2.5-inch solid-state drive the USB class is the part of the chain that decides the result, and a five-gigabit enclosure caps a fast drive at roughly half of what it can do.
What the page does not do is say what the figure depends on. Ten gigabits requires a 3.2 Gen 2 socket at the far end and a cable able to carry it, and neither is mentioned here. One listing elsewhere in this lot prints that requirement in a marked note. This one prints the number.
Two plugs, and nothing to lose
The title gives Type-C and Type-A.
Across this whole lot there are three different answers to the socket problem — an adapter in the box, a combined cable, and two moulded plugs. The last is the one with nothing to misplace, and it is what this enclosure and one other here both use.
On an older Type-A port the link will run at whatever that port supports, which is the usual caveat and not a fault of the enclosure.
Foam, and three named protections
The fifth bullet is doing two jobs and both are worth having.
The EVA foam holds the drive still and keeps it from being scratched during installation. A 2.5-inch drive loose in a plastic shell rattles, and the pad is what stops that.
Then the protection system, named as three separate things: overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating. Naming three is better than claiming protection in general, because each is a different circuit doing a different job, and it is the kind of detail that suggests somebody described the board rather than the marketing.
The material, which is the trade
ABS, credited with excellent heat dissipation.
That claim needs reading against the alternative. Two enclosures on this shelf are aluminium, which moves heat out of a case in a way plastic does not. This one is plastic — and it is also the fastest cheap enclosure here, which means it is the one most likely to be carrying a solid-state drive through a long sustained copy.
Those two facts sit uncomfortably together. The enclosure that most invites a big transfer is the one least equipped to shed the heat of it.
The warranty length that is not stated
No warranty length. The two enclosures either side of it on price both state one, and this listing does not.
Before ordering
Find out what the USB socket on your computer is, because the ten gigabits is the reason to buy this and it depends entirely on that. Measure the drive height. And if the work involves long continuous writes, look at the aluminium enclosure further along this shelf before deciding.
