One line in the fifth bullet does what the whole of this shelf exists to argue for.

Outside: 600 × 450 × 500 mm. Inside: 500 × 350 × 400 mm.

That is a hundred millimetres of depth that exists on the outside of this cabinet and not on the inside, and it is exactly the margin that turns a confident purchase into a switch that will not let the door shut. Six of the seven cabinets in this hub publish an outer depth. Three publish something usable. One publishes the inside on all three axes, and it is this one.

Measure the deepest device against 350 mm. Then subtract the plug and the first bend of its power lead, which lives inside the 350 and not outside it. What is left is what fits, and for once the arithmetic starts from a published number rather than an estimate.

Four rails

The second bullet names four flexibly adjustable 19-inch mounting rails, and no other listing on this shelf names a rail count at all.

Four rails means front and rear support. That is what allows a heavy device to be fixed at the back instead of hanging off its front ears, and it is what a four-post shelf needs — on the shelves hub of this site the four-post shelf carries 110 kg and the cantilever shelves carry 15, 16 and 20.

So the rail count is not a detail of the cabinet. It is a decision about everything that will be bought for it afterwards.

The drilling template

The first bullet lists cage nuts, rack rails and a drilling template in the delivery.

The template is the interesting one. A wall cabinet is fixed by holes that have to line up with holes in a steel back panel, and marking them by holding a 19 kg box against a wall is the part of the job that goes wrong. A paper template turns that into a measured, one-person operation.
