A hundred millimetres of adjustment, both ends named

This is the only cabinet in this hub that publishes its usable depth as a range with a figure at each end.

One hundred and seventy millimetres at the shallowest, two hundred and seventy at the deepest, inside a cabinet the title gives as 400 mm.

The upper number is the one that decides an order. A switch 300 mm deep does not fit here, whatever the 400 mm suggests, and no amount of adjusting the rails changes that. The lower number is not decoration either: a patch panel is a shallow object, and rails set at 270 mm leave a 110 mm panel hanging at the front with its cable arriving from nowhere.

Two things sit outside the range and are easy to forget. The glass door needs its own clearance, and a mains plug pushed into the back of a switch is a deep object with a bend behind it. Treat 270 mm as the envelope rather than as the target.

The brush strip

The fifth bullet names cable entries in the roof and the floor and a brush strip.

That is the only brush strip in this hub. Every other cabinet here has cable entries of some kind and none of them says what closes the hole.

A brush strip is a small thing that does three jobs: it lets a cable pass without a grommet, it stops the opening becoming a dust and draught path, and it holds a bundle roughly where it was put. What is published, usefully, is the steel thickness — which is the figure that separates a cabinet that stays square under load from one that does not.

A glass door and slots in the roof

Cooling here is a row of slots in the roof and a stated provision for retrofitting a fan.

No fan size is given. One cabinet on this shelf names its aperture as 120 × 120 mm and this one does not name anything, so a fan bought in advance is a fan bought on hope.
