Six switches on the front, six sockets on the back
This is the only strip on this shelf where every outlet has its own switch.
That is the whole shape of the product and it is aimed at a specific way of working. In a rack of audio equipment, things get switched on in an order and off in another, and reaching behind a loaded rack to unplug something is how leads get pulled out of other things.
Six switches on a front panel turn that into a job done standing still. The third bullet names the benefit exactly: quick access without re-plugging.
Six is also the lowest outlet count in this hub — the other two strips carry eight, or say they do. The trade is a switch per socket.
About five point three centimetres, and not one rack unit
The third bullet does something unusual and worth crediting: it publishes an inconvenient measurement.
The strip needs about 5.3 cm of rack height, it says, because of the way it is built, and it adds that this is not exactly 1U.
One rack unit is 44.45 mm. A product that needs more than that and says so before the sale is saving somebody a planning error, because rack space is allocated in units and a strip that steals part of the space above it is a problem discovered at the worst possible moment.
Two strips in this hub publish their height. Only this one flags that the figure does not land on a standard boundary.
The protection, named twice and measured never
Surge protection appears in the title and in the second bullet. So does the mains filter.
No joule rating. No clamping voltage. No response time. No standard.
The filter and the surge protection are at least kept apart, which is a distinction some listings blur. They address different problems: a filter works on continuous low-level interference, the sort that becomes audible hum through a monitor; surge protection works on short, violent voltage events by diverting them away from what is plugged in.
Both are named as capabilities. Neither is given a figure, and this page reports both as claims because that is what they are on the page.
The switches, which are not the light this hub asks for
A front-panel switch reports the supply. It says whether power is reaching a socket.
That is not the same as reporting the protection. Protective components wear with every event they take, and when they are used up the strip carries on supplying power with every front switch behaving exactly as before. The failure is silent by design.
A protection status light is the separate indicator that answers that question, and none of the three strips in this hub publishes one — which is why the buying advice for this shelf keeps raising it.
The case, and the shortest lead here
The fourth bullet gives a stable metal housing for continuous use and a mains cable of 1.83 m at 3 × 1.5 mm².
That cable is the shortest published in this hub, where the other two are two metres. In a rack the difference between 1.83 and 2 metres is the difference between reaching a distribution point and not, and it is worth measuring the run before ordering.

Buy this for the front switches and the metal case, which are its real arguments. Allow more than one rack unit of height, because the listing itself says so. Measure the cable run against 1.83 m. And take anything about the installation — what feeds the strip, what protection exists upstream — to the manufacturer’s instructions and the local wiring rules, since this page reads a listing and is not a guide to work on an electrical installation.
