On the NAS shelf, the WD Red Plus 4 TB and 12 TB; on the internal shelf, the Purple Pro 8 TB surveillance drive and the WD Blue 1 TB; on the SATA SSD shelf, the WD Blue 3D NAND 1 TB and the WD Blue SA510 1 TB.

The Red Plus 12 TB is the only NAS drive that prints the formula behind its workload rating, 180 TB a year, and has the largest cache on its shelf, 512 MB. The WD Blue 3D NAND SSD is the only drive on its shelf that names the method behind each endurance figure: 600 TBW under JEDEC JESD219 and 1.75 million hours MTTF by Telcordia. The Purple Pro states 550 TB a year, the highest on the internal shelf, a five-year warranty and 2.5 million hours MTBF.

Where the pages thin out

The Red Plus 4 TB was the cheapest drive on the NAS shelf on October 26, 2026, with CMR and 128 MB of cache, and names a warranty without its length. The WD Blue 1 TB is the only internal drive supplied with cloning software. The SA510’s five bullets repeat the title, one of them stating that an internal SSD has no wireless network.
