ASUS

ASUS specifies the radio and leaves the cables to the datasheet

The three ASUS units

A two-node ZenWiFi BT8 Wi-Fi 7 mesh set, an RT-AX52 Pro Wi-Fi 6 router — listed on the European Amazon stores only — and a USB-C2500 V2 2.5-gigabit adapter.

What is stated about the radio

The BT8 page names a 6 GHz radio, multi-link operation and 4K-QAM, counts seven internal antennas and eight front-end modules, and gives 5,900 sq ft for the pair. It also gives each node two 2.5-gigabit Ethernet ports for a wired backhaul, without marking either as the WAN. The router prints its 802.11 designation and publishes both band rates beneath an AX3000 badge, which few routers in its family do, and counts no Ethernet socket.

The adapter, and one line to settle

The 2.5-gigabit adapter has its Windows driver built in, an aluminum case and a braided cable. Its Amazon.com title calls the plug USB Type-A while ASUS’s own specification says USB 3.0 Type-C — which is the line to check before ordering for a particular laptop.

Every ASUS unit reviewed here

What each ASUS review concluded

  • ASUS RT-AX52 Pro — The clearest radio designation of the seven and the thinnest description of the box around it.
  • ASUS USB-C2500 V2 — A tidy 2.5-gigabit adapter with its driver on board and its fallback rates stated, sold under a title that names a different plug from ASUS's own specification.
  • ASUS ZenWiFi BT8 — A well-described Wi-Fi 7 radio with a wired backhaul path at 2.5 Gbit/s.

Every price named in a summary was read on the date that review carries. What a shop asks today is shown beside the product, and it moves.
