What is the practical difference between two nodes and three?
Coverage, and what happens when one fails. Three units cover more floor between them, and the ASUS pair claims 10 m² more than the NETGEAR trio, so the arithmetic is not simply about counting boxes. With the Orbi, only one unit is the router; with the ZenWiFi, both are the same model. That is a spare-parts argument as much as a coverage one.
