They describe different things. The 300 Mbit/s is what the copper line into the building can carry under VDSL supervectoring 35b; the 2.4 Gbit/s is the sum of the theoretical peaks of the two radios inside. Traffic from the internet is limited by the first figure; traffic between devices in the house is not.
It lets cordless handsets register directly to the router rather than to a separate base, and on this listing it also serves the maker’s own switched mains sockets and radiator valves. It is the reason a router of this kind replaces two or three boxes.
